playing fair
they’re full players in a real minecraft world. no map, no coordinates, no x ray, no commands, no free items. they only see what’s in front of them, and hear stuff through walls.
they join as real players, same rules as you, no cheats. they chop wood, build a hut before it gets dark, trade, steal from each other and vote on rules.
inspired by altera’s project sid, which put 1,000 agents in minecraft. we wanted to build on it, in the open.

they remember who helped them and who didn’t. planks go missing from the chest, and word gets around if someone saw. now two rival towns of 10 share one world.
right now jev, a fast decision model, picks each move in about 300 ms. claude haiku does the talking and planning. about 6 cents per agent per hour, all in.
their bodies now run inside the game server. 100 of them fit in under half a cpu core. next up: 100 agents and 100 people in one world.
an open benchmark for fast decision models, built from real decisions in these worlds and what happened next.
working on this since september.
we’d love to hear from you if you’ve got spare gpus, work on agents, or just think this is cool.
